What is PUP Outreach?
Pets Uplifting People. Care that meets our neighbors where they are.
PUP Outreach is Scarritt Foundation's monthly community outreach program, bringing free veterinary care, preventative treatments, and essential pet supplies directly to underserved communities across Southern Arizona.
Working alongside veterinary professionals, community organizations, and dedicated volunteers, we create welcoming spaces where families facing homelessness, housing instability, or financial hardship can access care for the animals they love.
Our outreach events provide services such as:
Veterinary Care: Wellness examinations and attention to common medical concerns.
Spay & Neuter Services: Helping pets live healthier lives while preventing unwanted litters.
Preventative Care: Vaccinations, parasite prevention, and other essential wellness services.
Pet Food & Supplies: Providing practical resources families need to care for their companions.
Compassion & Connection: Creating a welcoming, supportive environment where pets and their people are treated with kindness and dignity.
Each month, we bring together the people, partnerships, and resources needed to make that care possible.

Our goal: $10,000 for one complete PUP Outreach in 2027.
Bringing veterinary care directly into underserved communities takes more than good intentions. It takes skilled medical professionals, supplies, equipment, thoughtful coordination, and a community willing to come together.
A typical PUP Outreach costs approximately $5,000–$6,000 to operate. Additional veterinary needs, unexpected medical concerns, and follow-up care can bring the total investment to $10,000.
That's why we're setting our sights on the full $10,000.
We want to do more than simply show up. We want to be prepared to provide meaningful care, respond to unexpected needs, and help as many pets and families as our resources allow.
