Thursday’s Journey
From the Streets to the Suite Life
She was found dragging her broken body through the streets of Tucson—just skin, bones, and sheer will. The team at Pima Animal Care Center quickly discovered why: both of her back legs were fractured.
They named her Thursday. And they knew she needed a miracle.
That’s when PACC reached out to Little Lotus Rescue & Sanctuary, who contacted us at the Scarritt Foundation. Thanks to a lifesaving medical grant from Adrienne, Thursday was transported to New Mexico for a complex bilateral surgery. Skilled surgeons placed plates in both her legs, giving her not just a second chance—but the ability to run, play, and thrive again.
Her recovery took months of dedicated rehab. But Thursday? She never gave up.
Today, she’s known as Murphy—adopted by the one-in-a-million Frankie, who adores her completely. Murphy now lives her best life in Phoenix: snoozing on couches, enjoying gourmet treats on demand, and beating the desert heat with a personal treadmill delivered right to her door.
From the streets to a sanctuary, from broken to beaming—Murphy is living proof of what’s possible when compassion meets action.
