Scarritt Foundation is proud to provide grants that strengthen animal welfare across Southern Arizona. Our funding supports programs and urgent needs that align with our mission pillars:
Supporting animal companions of the unhoused
Providing critical veterinary care
Rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals
We fund organizations that demonstrate measurable outcomes, transparency, and lasting impact.
Our Grants
Category A
Impact Grants
$75,000 - $200,000
Supports broader programs in rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.
Category B
Critical Care Grants
Up to $75,000
Supports urgent veterinary procedures or life-saving interventions.
Application Timeline: Categories A and B
Applications Open: November 1
Submission Deadline: January 15, 6 PM
Virtual Presentations: February 1
Site Visits (finalists only): February 15–25
Final Decisions: March 1
Funds Disbursed: April 1
Category C
Mini Grants
Up to $5,000
Supports time-sensitive needs related to veterinary care, supplies, shelter improvement, or outreach services.
Application Timeline: Category C
Accepted and awarded on a rolling basis.
Applicants must:
Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (provisional IRS status accepted)
Serve Southern Arizona
Align with at least one Scarritt Foundation pillar
Show measurable outcomes and commit to donor reporting
Priority will be given to requests for food, supplies, equipment, and shelter.

Category A (Impact Grants Only)
Optional Letter of Intent (1–2 pages outlining goals, needs, alignment, and budget)
Categories A & B Applications
Full organizational and program details
Budget breakdown and sustainability plan
Required documents: IRS determination letter, recent Form 990, project/organizational budgets
Slide Deck (3–5 slides): Overview, use of funds, budget details, anticipated impact, gratitude
Category C (Mini-Grants Only)
1–2 page summary of the request
Simple budget breakdown

Review Process
Categories A & B: Scored on mission alignment, feasibility, impact, sustainability, and innovation. Finalists present virtually; site visits required for Impact Grants.
Category C: Reviewed and disbursed on a rolling basis.
All funded projects will be publicly announced with outcomes shared for donor transparency.
Post-Award
Recipients must submit a final report within 90 days of project completion, including financial tracking and impact updates. Select highlights may be featured at the Scarritt Foundation’s annual Fur Ball gala.
Our Commitment
100% of donor funds go directly to program support.
Administrative costs are covered separately by Scarritt Group Companies.
A volunteer review committee ensures a fair and transparent process.
